MA in Music Performance with Distinction by the Sheffield University, where he studied with Prof. Mary Dullea, Christine Swain and Christopher Redgate.
Manuel Pérez Estellés was born in Nàquera, Valencia. He started his Oboe musical studies in Valencia, with Professors Salvador Bravo, Eugenio Murgui and José Zafrilla and later, in Barcelona, with Professor Francisco Castelló, finishing with distinction and honorary prizes for all his degrees. Further studies at the “Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía” in Madrid, with Professor Hansjorg Schellenberger, holding a scholarship from “Institut Valencià de la Música”. He also followed courses, took private lessons and attended masterclasses in oboe and chamber music with such teachers as Maurice Bourgue, Han de Vries, Paul Dombrecht, Celia Nicklin, Emmanuel Abhül, Ingo Goritzki, Douglas Boyd, Robert Botti, Ralph Gothoni, Marta Gyulas, Jesús Garrigues, Salvador Tudela, Vicente Llimerá Salvador Mir, Francisco Salanova, to name a few.
He has been awarded with third prize in VI Concurso Internacional de Jóvenes Intérpretes “Ruperto Chapí” de Villena (Alicante) and Finalist in I Concurso Jóvenes Intérpretes “Ciudad de Valencia”.
A reputed teacher, he has taught as oboe tutor at Leeds College of Music, he maintains a private studio teaching, and is frequently invited to teach Master Class around the world, i. e. at Granada Conservatoire, Alicante Conservatoire in Spain, at Sheffield University in the U.K. as well as in China, to name a few. Since 2015 is collaborating as an intern in Shrewsbury, at the International Chamber Music Summer School, Elizabeth Altman director.
He performed as a soloist with several orchestras and ensembles, like the SUO, with whom he played the Mozart oboe concerto several times, always with great critical appraise. He is very active as a chamber music musician also.
Due to his time spent at Sheffield University, he kept a close collaboration with the Music Department and composers like David Alexander-Barnes had written and made him the dedicatee of their pieces. He is also involved in commissioning new pieces from new composers who have many things to say in the future, like Pedro Antonio Rodríguez Cortés.

He has been first Oboe of “Orquesta Sinfónica del Vallés” in Barcelona, position that he left for pursuing further studies in Madrid at “Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía” after receiving the generous grant and support from the “Institut Valencià de la Música” Manuel has been on Trial with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra from 2015 until 2016.
Nowadays, Manuel Pérez keeps a very busy schedule as freelance, and he usually collaborates with such orchestras as “Orchestra del Teatro San Carlo di Napoli”, “Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino", “Orquesta de Barcelona y Nacional de Cataluña” or the "Orquesta del Palau de les Arts, Reina Sofia", to name a few.
He also has played with the "Orchestra del Teatro Alla Scala", “L’Orchestra del Teatro dell’Opera di Roma”, “Orchestre de l’Opera de Lyon”, "Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna", “Human Rights Orchestra”, "Orquesta Sinfónica Castilla y León", the “Orquesta de Cámara del Liceo” and the “Orquesta Sinfónica del Gran Teatro del Liceo”, “Orquesta Sinfónica de Castellón” to name a few.
In the field of contemporary music, he has collaborated since 2006 with Ensemble “BCN 216”, participating in several recordings for NAXOS. Always with such a conductors as Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, Christian Zacharias, Juraj Valcuha, Juanjo Mena, Mikhail Pletnev, James Conlon, Bertrand de Billy, Pablo Gonzalez, Jiri Milhohavek, Claus Peter Flor, Tamas Vasary, Dimitri Kitaenko, Lopez Cobos, Maximiano Valdes, Sebastian Weigle, Eiji Oue, Daniel Oren, Tomas Netopil, Marc Albrecht, Aleksander Anissimov, Francesc Prat, Cristian Mandeal, Lorenzo Ramos, Louis Langree, Ernest Martinez Izquierdo, Antoni Ros Marba, Maurizio Barbacini, Diego Masson, Jose Maria Sanchez Verdu, Salvador Mas, Pierre Cao, Georges-Elie Octors Robert Hart Baker, Jordi Savall, Virgínia Martínez, Salvador Brotons, Enrique Garcia Asensio among others.
Nowadays, he is pursuing studies in Ancient Music, baroque oboe discipline, at Conservatorio Superior de Música de Castellón, under guidance of Pere Saragossa and a Degree in Pedagogy at the UNED.
